Description

Q&A with the Director Natasha Verma after the screening

With nothing but two hands and an unbreakable will, Heather Hardy rose from being a homeless single mother to a world champion, in a sport that traditionally ignores women — boxing. Filmmaker Natasha Verma and her crew follow Heather as she trains at the legendary Gleason’s Gym (where Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali trained). Here she negotiates a complicated relationship with her demanding trainer (and lover) and works to land a long-term deal with New York’s biggest boxing promoter, all while struggling to raise her daughter. The result is the powerful, inspirational true story of a woman who overcame the odds to prove her worth in a male-dominated industry.
